Remembering William Soutar

William Soutar (1898-1943) Scots language poet, writer and diarist, died in October 1943 and this month, upon that anniversary, the Scots Language Centre visits the Soutar Hoose in Perth and celebrates the life and work of the man. Soutar’s life was both creative and tragic. His Scots verse formed an outstanding contribution to the body of literature in Scots being produced during the 20th century, but this output was cut tragically short with William’s death at the age of just 45.
