William Soutar Lecture

Categorised as:

Soutar hoose windae

Wednesday April 28th is the 112th anniversary of the birth of Perth poet William Soutar, and to mark the occasion a lecture on his life and work will be given at Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
Novelist and dramatist Ajay Close, who was until recently the Soutar fellow resident at the Soutar House in Craigie, will trace Soutar’s path from vigorous youth to the thirteen years he spent bedridden in the Soutar House – years that were at once a personal tragedy and the making of him as a poet.
The lecture, at 1pm on Wednesday 28th April, will be the first of a series of annual Soutar birthday events organised by the Friends of William Soutar Society. Admission is free.
