Der shadows quietly creepin

in ower da watter noo;

Da peerie flooers is sleepin,

As trowe da scentit hömin

An hit’ll mak nae differ

Wi mony a day ta lippen

Fir du, my lass, can gie me

At I can kyerry wi me

whin A’m sae far fae haem.

Wi days o storm an tempest,

wi nichts baith mirk an grim,

A’ll see dee ida hömin

A’ll see da colours spreadin

up fa da risin sun,

Da gold an rose-red cleddin

An see dee ida sunsheen

Da spinnin Eart keeps turnin;

Da flame o love keeps burnin

wi rainy days an dry.

Eence mair ta be aside dee
